    The comic book section?

No seriously, as much as I think that they are useless before you do anything you might want to make sure if you live in a neighborhood that you are allowed to have one. A lot of places are telling people lose them or get sued.

First you should start with your planning commission to find out if they allow solar panels, strange as it seems some do not.
next an on line search will give you contractors in your area.

This should get you started, you might also ask about available rebates, and an expandable system, if you decide to start with a system below your needs and increase it later.

I just got solar panels installed and I would say the best thing to do is contact a licensed contractor and get a no cost, no obligation bid. They should be able to tell you where you’ll be able to place the panels, how large of a system you could get, if there are any rebates or tax credits, how long before you will break even and how much energy you should expect to generate. These were the things I needed to know to make my decision. I got a system that I can add to at a later date and would reduce my bill by at least 1/3, and should break even in about 6 years.

You’re lucky, New Jersey is one of the states that is very friendly towards solar. (California is the most friendly, by state law, no homeowner’s association or local government may hinder the reasonable installation of solar panels.)

Just Google "solar panel installer" plus your local area, or look in the phone book under "solar". Ask several professionals to give you free bids. Don’t be rushed into things, just get the information.

If you want to check out what we have installed, see the link below.
